Mailing List Clean-up Suggestion from Jay:
This is an excellent resource for updating a mailing list. BSMGR users can export their list have it cleaned with new addresses replacing the bad ones and import it back into BSMGR. I can help people with the steps. There is a specific routine to follow. I am not sure if IBID can import the list back into their system but all users can at least get clean data for doing their mailings. Here is their contact info:

Logos Christmas CDs:

If you have changes to make to the quantity of CDs that you are ordering for your store, you may do that. The last day to make any changes will be Friday, Oct. 5. Please contact the office if you have any questions about the CDs or with quantity changes right away. Thanks!

Bibles-by-the-Case Promotions:

Buz Jewell, Logos of Fredericksburg, VA, has been successfully handselling "Bibles-by-the-case" to churches at the store. He keeps signs throughout the store stating "Bibles-by-the-case 30-50% off". Whenever a customer who's linked to leadership at a church is at Buz' store, he mentions the promotion to them. This has helped him build relationships and increase sales with local churches.

Buz recommends contacting Zondervan, Tyndale, B&H, and Nelson to find out what programs they offer to retailers. Most publishers will offer large discounts on cases. He maintains a 30% profit margin for the store. (To calculate the selling price to the church, Buz takes the cost and divides by.7)  This promotion can be for any type of Bible, not just traditional pew Bibles.

Also, make sure to check with vendors regularly to find out what "Close-outs" they're offering at the moment. Great deals can be found this way. (especially with Zondervan, B&H, and Nelson)

CBA Retailers+Resources Industry Brief 10/1/07

CBA representatives Curtis Riskey (strategic solutions executive), Mike Hockett (training and consulting manager), and Eric Johnson (member services manager) will facilitate discussion, take feedback, and be available to answer questions.

Hockett will present an exclusive retail training seminar, Embrace the Retail Paradigm Shift—Don’t Be Left Behind, to help prepare store owners and managers for the biggest shift in retailing in the past century, the customer's demand for the ultimate customer experience.

Also included during the time will be a CBA event and solutions update, explanation of industry sales data and inventory analysis tools available, and details about the new training and consulting programs developed specifically for Christian retail stores.
